PTFE-coated glass fiber fabric for Messe Düsseldorf

In May 2017, Temme // Obermeier was contracted by Köster Bau GmbH to fabricate and install the new membrane canopy at the Messe Düsseldorf. This ambitious project was designed by prominent local architects, SOP Architekten, Düsseldorf . The canopy consists of approximately 5,500 m² of PTFE-coated glass fiber fabric and a silver PVC / PES mesh lining that will be seen from beneath the canopy. At 20 m high, this translucent canopy will span a total of 7,800 m² and will cover the forecourt of the exhibition grounds while offering magnificent views of the Düsseldorf skyline. The canopy extends across the new foyer into the exhibition halls leading onto an additional 12,000 m² of exhibition area and conference rooms. The beautiful membrane canopy will be the starting point of every exhibition visit from 2019 onwards.
